| 21 Jan 2003 | A non a moose | I agree with the above. I will not lie, your not very good at having things be proportionate, but you can only get better. Try to base your dragons off of something else, and they will look much more like dragons (not to mention they'd be easier too!). | |
| 21 Jan 2003 | Anonymous | well... I think first off that your dragon heads are a little too smily for them to be bloodthirsty enough to eat other dragons. and i think you need a little more muscle. if i were you, i'd go look at the oversize Dinotopia and model your dragons off their dinos. plus those dinos are just really cool keep drawing!! | |
| 14 Feb 2003 | Lauren Whitney Stafford | Good for you for putting up an Elfwood gallery! If I could offer some constructive criticism, you should try some drawing from models. Whether you use a friend as a model or your pet or even just some assorted items put together as a still life, you'll get a really good feel for drawing more naturalistic art. Even imaginary creatures like dragons would have muscles and bones; look at artists you admire, you'll probably see that they suggest the muscles and bones as well as just the surface features and outlines of their subjects. Drawings of living things are great for teaching you how to represent musculature and bone structure under skin (or hair, or feathers, or scales). And of course, practice practice practice! (Come to think of it, I should do that too.) Keep at it! | |
| 3 May 2003 | Andrea Leigh(Drea Leigh) | Your pictures have room for improvement. I agree on one comment, try to outline your dragons in fine tip marker or a uniball pen. It really brings the art out more than just pencil lines.
Practice makes perfect, just keep at it my friend.

You are honestly right, I am not that good at drawing normal dragons. I'm just going to have fun with my art from now on. ^^
If I have fun, I will be sure to get better.
