Then Gin discovered him a follower of the way of Orochimaru, Gin offered him an opportunity to grain even more strength and power as long as he stayed loyal only to him. Ashitaka accepted his offer and fallowed him to the end of the earth . During this time Gin gave Ashitaka the gift of the water curse mark, which gave Ashitaka the power he searched for.
