Fool's Riddle

I am one who is one with all
The equinox I am, extending my hand
My cause is slight yet I stand tall
A paradox I am, most humble of grand
I am but my duty’s servant
The holiest I am, the greatest delinquent
My head is weary with body’s fervent
That kind of ink which stifles the parchment
I am free within soul’s prison
The sky I am, the earth and the waters
My heart is blind to mind’s third vision
The gods’ son I am, man’s long lost daughter
I am that which unlocks doors
The jury I am, judge true from right
My tongue is sheathed to expose yours
Some radiance I am, the source of night

Tell me…

A thousand centuries and nothing will wake me
A thousand centuries and no one will save me
A thousand centuries and nobody names me
I am what I am yet this riddle chains me
Sight beyond sight and sound beyond sound
What travels the night? What mysteries bound?
Surrounded with secrecy and riddled in time
Three wishes to whoever solves this riddle of mine

I am life yet I live unborn
With one breath I suck wind from death
My being is complete and thoroughly torn
A donor I am, though none shall be left
I am centre to a shattered shell
The beginning I am, the middle of an end
My two eyes reflect one heaven and one hell
As right hand breaks what left hand will mend
I am the frost that burns inside
A flame I am, the sharp dagger of cold
My speech is veiled but I've nothing to hide
One coward I am, that fights strong and bold
I am one who confides in peace
A warmonger I am, of serene hate
My conscience is clean yet soiled and creased
Some free willed spirit, bound by fate

Tell me…

A thousand centuries and nothing will wake me
A thousand centuries and no one will save me
A thousand centuries and nobody names me
I am what I am yet this riddle chains me
Sight beyond sight and sound beyond sound
What travels the night? What mysteries bound?
Surrounded with secrecy and riddled in time
Three wishes to whoever solves this riddle of mine

Tell me…

Sight beyond sight and sound beyond sound
What travels the night? What mysteries bound?
Surrounded with secrecy and riddled in time
Three wishes to whoever solves this riddle of mine!

Whoa....!! That is pretty sensational, it earns the spot of honour on my wall *grinz*

After reading it, i'd have to say that my answer to the riddle would be 'Life' ... but then, it is a fools riddle and that may be a fool's answer!!

Hang in there wookie!

1 Adrian H. Wood replies: "  The spot of honour! Me so proud!!

Glad you enjoyed it but I'm afraid that's a negative on your answer missy 12 Good effort though."

T*rolls eyes* When you click onto the story/poem/riddle/picture what have ya, if you go to the bottom of the page it has a counter - that's how she knew.

Anyways, I'm not going to have a stab in the dark - one because I'm tired, and two because I'm rubbish at riddles, if I start thinking on them I convelute them into something worse. Therefore I think it safe to say I shouldn't even try. I shall just take this marvellous piece of confusion and look at it like that.

You should take breaks more often. This is great, I love the twists, and the irregular meter - it helped with the whole off-centre feeling.

The repetition section was particularly good, attention catching and intriguing.

What are you going to do when someone demands their three wishes?

22 Adrian H. Wood replies: "Ahhh I see the counter now. I see the light! That's genius... I'll have to pay attention to that from now on.

Anyways don't blame ya for not taking a guess, I'll be the first one to admit the answer is totally stupid lol. As is this entire poem really; abstract and complicated and random and... pointless?

Thanks for the thumbs up Becca, always means a lot to me when you comment ^_^"

*blushes* I'm god-awful at riddles.
I could go with Time, or Chance, or...I dunno. Choice?
*ahem* It could be a myriad of things. Reminds me of the Hobbit *grins* Ah, go hairy feet!
...Except, ew.
*ahem* It's nice to be back! Man, I've been away far too long.
Long live Elfwood! *dances* I like the riddle, the imagery is very strong and beautiful.
