My first ever attempt at a Gryphon. What do you think? Did I do okay? Now I just have to get around to finishing that starry night sky background I've been meaning to do, but she is colored! ^_^

Ah... Yes... Rather good attempt I'd say, me dear.

Rather good attempt indeed...
Rather fond of it....

You are right, however, that it needs a background. Starry night sky would like rather spiffy. Yup. However, I would you make the moon a bright glowing blue moon. Yup yup. Would make a nice effect. That would look AWESOME! Heheh. =)

Might I have a look at the real thing after it's completed? I would assure you that you wouldn... ::ahem:: I mean would get it back. =) Hehe.

For your first gryph, this is awesome! The way you've colored the feathers to show sheen is very nice. Maybe a tad more shading on the far back leg?
Great job, with this... would like to see it with the BG!

*Rae flaps in and perches below Clyss* Great job, Lana! I love her (her? yes? *brain kinda gone*) pose, so regal and majestic and Gryphalicious (don't ask me where that came from just now...i think it's from the Guild dictionary o.O;12 ...umm...yeah!

Heya! Yeah this is a good for your first attempt. Maybe I'll give Gryphion a try later too... but hey, you know me -_-;; You wouldn't know when I'd get to it...

Now. For the background... Dark starry night would be great, with the night sky a dark blue. Well... if you've observed the sky colors at night, you'd know the dark blue I'm talking about. BUT... as opposed to CC's idea of a blue moon, I think a moon with a red glow would be better since your coloring is analygous with the blue, yellow, and green. With a red moon it'd make ppl focus more on the gryph since it's practically framed by the moon, and red would serve as an contrast to the coloring of the rest of the pic.

This is your first time drawing a gryphon? That is very good! I like how you color it's fur with the shadows and stuff. It sort of makes it glow in a way...
Adding the starry night sky would be great. Maybe you could leave the edges white of lighter than its surroundings so it would stand out more. Or as the last commenter before me said about the red moon, that would be great too. ^_^
