Very interesting indeed...
I like the coloring.
The fluffiness of the tail is depicted exceptionally and the bird part is drawn rather well.
Yup.

| 9 Jul 2002 | | Loading...His coloring is gorgeous! I also adore the way you did his wings... Perhaps it's the way his tail is held against his body that's throwing people off and making them think he's part squirrel. | |

It looks really good! ^_^ Meagan 'Alana' Tovado replies: "Yeah, he's a blue and gold Macaw ^_^ They're sorta similar to parrots. You'd have to consult with my friend who knows much more about birds than I, SamCat. ^_^" | |

| 29 Sep 2003 | Christina 'C.J.' DeCamp | Loading...(sorry, had to say one more thing) Macaws (and I think all parrots and wood peckers and most owls) have two toes in front, and two in back, not three and one like perching, wading and birds of prey do. Keep up the great work though. He looks good and only us people who know TOO much about animals would ever notice. | |
| 29 Sep 2003 | Christina 'C.J.' DeCamp | Loading...Blue and Gold (and all other kinds of Macaws) are parrots. It's definately the way the tail is held that makes it look squirrlish. Cats don't hold their tails up like that when sitting, only when standing, whereas squirrles do. Also the turning down of the tip is a very squirrlish guesture. Try laying it out straight behind him, or better yet, curled up around his toes (you can even curl it to the 'back' if you want us to be able to see his feet) You might also keep in mind that Macaw's especially have much heavier bills, so you might want to go a bit larger on that if you try the picture again. Other than that, it's REALLY beautiful. I like the colors and the wings lok good. His toes are just too cute! | |
