Androgynous is the way to go

A being that is androgynous is not necessarily hermaphroditic (Definition Man).

Also, s/he is not of one gender but posessing the overriding character character traits/physical attributes of the other gender. If a man is very feminine, then he is feminine, not androgynous (Anonymous).

Androgyny is when the being has many character traits/physical attributes that are attributed (by society) to being "masculine," as well as many that are "feminine." Or, all their character traits/physical attributes seem to belong exclusively to neither gender. Any one who really wants to understand androgyny should read Virginia Woolf's Orlando.

I don't really know why I'm commenting on androgyny to other commenters. They likely won't ever read my comment. But the artist will! So, Megan, I love this picture. Androgyny IS the way to go. Very regal, very powerful, very compelling.

By the way, Definition Man and Pandemonium, "King" is an appropriate title for someone of either gender (or neither)who claims the power and authority of a king (whatever that might be).

*pounces* I've been looking for you... *shakes her finger at the uni king* Been hiding from me, mischief maker... *stuffs him in a sack to take home to Malachi*

*realises people are watching*

^_^;

I wish I had some ink... and a steady hand... a good pen would be nice too. Then I could try and make prettyful pictures like this one... love the pose, he looks lithe, even despite all that muscle...

Oh, and by the way, Mr/Mrs "Cridisist", the least you could have done was use the spell-check. It's there for a reason. Perhaps you should go and take grade 7 English over again, and get a basic grasp of punctuation. As for not being suited to the subject, just what subject is it we're talking about here? If she says it's the unicorn king, then it is. It is HER artwork, if I'm not mistaken, isn't it?

And why anyone shouldn't draw their gods and kings attractive is beyond me... I can't see the attraction in making a character of your own design with a face like a monkey's butt. Especially when said character is somewhat horselike. -__-#

Sorry, felt the need to rant... just posuers pretending to be "art critics" that can't even spell decently tick me off... o.O; *wanders off dragging a struggling sack*

Lmao!!!! I love the above comment. I also happen to agree whole heartedly on the "why not make it attractive" comment. There were gods of love and beauty... Wouldnt they be sexy as all get-out?

I cant spell, and i hate running spell check too, so non-spellers dont bother me too much. Punctuation is a great thing though.

This picture is great! It makes me think of art nuvou (grrr spelling way off i think), or art deco.

Wow.... Its so incredibly cool... And have i seen you on oekaki central or something? These look very familiar, and ive seen that griffon in spring pic as free line art somewhere - has it been nicked then? All your pics are beautiful, and i absolutely adore your anthros! ^_^ specially the equoids! Gotta love a horse that can hug back.
And yeah, androgeny is wonderful. ^_^
lol i get mistaken for a guy too - just remember reading another person's comment about that - i always thought it was fun, though...
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous unicorn king... *falls asleep on the keyboard, skewering an eyeball on the spiky attachments*

Dear 'The Cridisist',

Yes indeedy, all my God's are ugly 12 Wake up; people wouldn't worship Gods if they weren't vaguely beautiful, and anyway, he's a Unicorn KING 10

Dear 'The Artist',

Your Unicorn rocks! His tail is a bit... huge, but otherwise he is completely perfect... I'm going to look at your lady unicorn now (hope that one's not sexy; who wants a sexy lady, after all? 10)
