Hey I am inspired first and foremost by live animals, and I draw from life when possible. But seeing how there is a shortage of gryphons and fire lizards about, I use what I can get. The best fantasy series ever written is Steven R Donaldson's Thomas Covenant books, and the best fantasy illustrator is Whelan, the guy who paints Pern dragons. Other than that, i ride a white gryphon and morph into a tigress in my free hours, but no one seems to notice.
