Hi Meagan,
I like the colors in this piccy. They are very vibrant and pretty well done.
I see, from your bio that you are not worried about details, but since you put this up for comments, I think I might give you a few hints.
* Since you do a lot of character drawing, try studying anatomy a bit. Actually, swimsuit catalogs and Department store catalogs can help out with a lot of things. Studying anatomy is soooo boring. Get a fun looking anatomy book, not the science ones as they are very dry to read through. sketch the anatomy and pay attention to how the muscles line up on a figure. That will help lots.
* As anonymous said, you should try drawing more hands and feet. I know that these are the two worst enemies of many artists, however, if you do not draw them, you will never get better at them. Take my word for it, I have had to really work this past year to bring my hands up to snuff. I still don't have a grasp on the naked foot, but none of my characters go around with bare feet
* Details are very important to drawing anything. Little things like the cloth she is wearing. You did very well by making it float a little bit. The fire would make the cloth float a bit naturally. The folds are pretty good, but you need to look more into regarding them as highlighted areas. I don't have much to comment on there as I am not too good with clothes yet.
* Lighting is a great way to evoke a mood to a picture. Couple that with color and your images will have a great impact on the viewer.
* Last but not least, is to give your poses and pictures a little kick by giving them some dynamics. For instance, this picture is fine in it's composition, but may have looked more exciting if her arms were raised above her head, makeing her whole body look like a "Y". It would have seemed as though she was floating.
I hope my suggestions are helpful to you. I love to see people take on challenges and I love to watch improvements as they happen. I hope you don't stop, especially if someone is harsh on your stuff. It's not bad at all. I couldn't draw like this when I was your age and that is a fact!!

"your right on so many points here. the clothing was hard, i have a lot of trouble picturing where the light would refect and what-not if the object isn't right in front of me. that was a good idea for the pose, i tried to do the hands, but they didn't come out right. i guess i just got so frustrated that i didn't think about moving her arms. thanks for your viewpoints."
