Brilliant colours! 2 And the sunlight actually looks like sunlight. I think the sun is very well depicted. Also, the card-pyramids actually have a far-away-and-really-big feel to them, the blue fuzzyness of them really brings that out.

Oh oh! Useless piece of information that I thought of when looking at this picture: I study art history, and during one lecture on ancient architecture, we talked about the pyramids (which I suppose is what this is inspired by), and research shows that it might be possible that the pyramids weren’t built with slave-labour, but that it was a volontary, religious workforce. (but you might have known that already, so, sorry in that case!) ^_^

:-) Darío Mekler replies: "That is an interesting piece of trivia I didnt know. I just worked a little with the steteotypical slaves building the pyramid. I think the term in english is "house of cards", in spanish the term is "pirámide de cartas" probably more fitting for the concept.

Thanks for commenting."

The subject is amazing, and so is the way the picture is made. I really love the lighting effect! I can sit for a long time staring at the towers of cards and the people building them, trying to find an even deeper meaning to it than what the title says, but I’m not good at that kind of abstract thinking. Even though, I can easily see that this picture is a very meaningful one, and a great one that is. Well deserved Mod’s Choice! 3

:-) Darío Mekler replies: "Thats quite a comment. If anyone can stare at this for more than 3 seconds that is more than I can ask for.

Thanks"

This is really creative, Dario. As an acrylic artist myself, I really admire the way you’ve painted the lens flare. It may not be totally realistic, but it looks really visually impressive. Congrats on the Mod’s Choice too, by the way.

:-) Darío Mekler replies: "Thanks ... I appreciate it, specially coming from a great artist like you.

I always think it could be better, maybe next time."
