This is very nice--nice use of several different types of line to form the hair, the folds in the clothing, and the nice slope of the shoulders. Great job--back poses are hard for a lot of people to do because they spend so much time concentrating on drawing front views. Amanda B. Melheim replies: "Wow! Thank you so much! I really liked how it turned out, too! I spent ages in pencil just adjusting the neck and the hair and everything. I'm really glad someone thinks it paid off. I know what you mean about the front view versus back view. Front view is enticing because it shows a face. I agree that it looks female to me. Thank you for your noticing the lines. I did it to be able to see everything clearly. "

It's nice to get truly positive comments. I agree she looks female, and you've captured her perfectly. Amanda B. Melheim replies: "Well, I did it a long time ago, before I even met you... I just found it now... *sweatdrop* Please don't hurt me. Ahaha."

I think I was just lucky. Anyway, you didn't see how much erasing I had to do. Thank you for commenting on my picture."

Melheim replies: "Thank you. Believe it or not, I did this a while ago, and the lines are actually because of a lot of thick pencil lines I traced over all the way because I wasn't sure exactly where I wanted my lines. ^-^; I doubted that they looked good when I put them up. Apprently, this is not so,m and they look fine.Thank you for commenting on my picture."

I'd have to say female, not cuz of the hair but cuz of the body shape. and well cuz my hair is like that.. so ok its the hair hehe. I wouldn't color it.. I suggest you leave it just as it is! Amanda B. Melheim replies: "Thank you. ^-^; I guess it is female, everyone says so. A lot of people seem to like this picture. The whole thing was an accident. Eh heh heh. -_-; I messed up and used line to cover it up and fix it. "
| 17 Apr 2005 | Linda Gock | Loading...Very nice details. From the elegant hair and shapely shoulders I'd say definitely female! Amanda B. Melheim replies: "Thank you. Elegant, eh? Everyone seems to agree, it's definitely a female." | |

I don't think I'd have enough patience to go through what it took to draw this picture I too vote for leaving it black and white, it has a good balance as a line drawing,so simply uncluttered. Its perfect! Amanda B. Melheim replies: "Thank you. ^-^; I used no reference at all, and so the folds in the sleeves are whim rather than reality! I'm glad that people like this picture. It was actually a quick, artistic mood of the moment. So you do have what it takes to make this picture. ;p "
