A little blind girl once fell from the clouds, into the high pastures of a mountain village. The herd-boy who found her brought her to the Witch at the top of the mountain. They found that the girl was blind, and had no memory of who she was or where she had been. She had soft wings, and so they called her Angelin. The Witchwoman from the top of the mountain now leads Blind Angelin down to the valley, where her new family waits for her. The Witchwoman's scarf is sewn with leaves that never fade; they change with the seasons. Some say they grow directly from her heart. Blind Angelin has never seen their colors, but she knows their rustle. When they fade and fall, she believes, she will be ready to fly without eyes.  <br> A detail of Angelin and the Witch from 'Blind Angelin.'

This is a very beautiful piece. It's like the angel is being nothing short of tormented by the old woman, while in reality the woman is just trying to help the child. Beautifully done with watercolours. Is there a story behind this picture?
