SciFi and Fantasy Art The Dreaming by Sarah Cloutier

This piece is a commission, an illustration for someone's unpublished story. In it, the young girl's family dies and she goes a little mad, living as a princess in a fantasy world. She becomes the prostitute of the demon-plagued son of a wealthy family. After he accidentally kills her, he...inherits her kingdom, so to speak. He goes mad and becomes in his own mind the prince she always dreamed him to be.

Here he is putting aside his 'bronze mask', his abnormality, which hides his normal, likable self.

5 Sep 2006	Yemaya	Loading... How by Hel did you manage to do that with markers?! The lighting and the subdued colour scheme are fantastic, but I think what I like the most is the girl's hair. It just looks so soft and fluffy, as do her wings. The masks are very detailed, but when you said they represent emotions and mania and such, thats more Asian isn't it? Anyway, it's a beautiful picture. I hope you don't mind if I use it as my desktop background...thingie.
