Ill met by moonlight, proud Titania.
-Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'

'Moonlight' is, as of now, my most ambitious digital work thus far. I figured I needed more practice doing backgrounds, and, since I hate to draw trees, I set out to prove to myself that I could.
Then this became my 'hurricane project' (I live in Florida, and if you've been paying attention, you'll note that our weather has been a little unusual lately.) So throughout Charley, and Frances, and in the time before, in between, and after the storms, I've been working on this. It's about a month's worth of work, and I'm fairly proud of it. There was supposed to be a little more in the foreground, but when I started to add it in, it took too much away from the central figures, so I left it as is.
This scene is the first time we get to meet the King and Queen of Faeries in Shakespeare's play, and it's one of my favorite scenes. There's so much tension between the two. She's haughty and proud, he's cunning and jealous. And I love the idea of all of the rest of the fae sort of taking cover, unsure of what will happen when these two meet.
