Miranda Gradded with a biomed sci degree with honours and a diploma of languages in french and is curently working towards her PhD in reproductive cancer. I play a few musical instruments, I sing, I LOVE disney and aim to collect all of the sheetmusic books from all of my favourites. I never really did any art I didn't have to until about year 10 when a friend of mine was having to design costumes for a drama assignment. I just wanted to do it. So I sat around for a week with her designing some medievil costumes. From there it went to facial studies. Once I joined elfwood it was like having a teacher. Suddenly i had this huge resource at my fingertips. Then ,due to all the manipulation work I'd I'd for Illusia icons, I went to full colourings, which is my main thing now, but I still find time for original art as well. I always wanted to be a scientist of some sort, and although I adored 'the arts', I didn't feel I had the guts to make it in the world as a musician or an actor (I prefer stage to movies etc) so science became first in my life, leaving me free to enjoy music and art without it being set to a pay check. I like to read fantasy, and dabble in writing it a little myself. I play Illusia: Quest for the Eternals and make small animated icons for it in my spare time for friends in the game, although I have done some work towards revamping and adding to the game's NPC icons for the game.

I know what I like and I like what I see; but I think you should really try using charcoal, if you haven't already, willow is definitely my favourite charcoal to use.

hey, might i say thats an interesting self portrait there ^^ I'm liking your gallery, very interesting and imaginative. The only suggestions I have as a whole are those of more range in your shading, getting those really dark shadows and bright highlights. Best of luck!

:-) Miranda Ween replies: "Ahh yes. to update. to have time enough to put a lot of effort into something so it is worthy of elfwood. if only that were an option. i am in my final week of my final year of my basic degree at university, and things are mightily hectic. i have not yet had the chance to do a full piece with my new tablet, but there is one waiting. check back in a month. it'll be a different style to anything already up, and is another collaboration piece."
