Tag As FavoriteComment		This is a good example of a drawing done without any sort of preparation, directly sprung out of my imagination. Two hours, alot of layering and SMUDGING did the trick. I didn't have the time to really finish it. You'll notice the gate could have been much more detailed. But it was still fun to paint. Don't ask me what that tiny critter is, I have no idea. He just came back to visit his old jail buddy.

Actually I'm quite glad that you didn't put too much detail into the gate. I kinda wonder if it would have suited the generally murky atmosphere of the cell as you've sketched it.
This way it makes for a brilliant picture.

I think that while it's sad, it's also sort of touching, with his little friend. The contrast with chain makes this a picture you can look at for age and constantly notice new things, great!

I love this picture so much. Its just so dark and it sucks you right in. I love the contrast between the dark and the light coming in from the window, and the chain adds that touch of creepiness. Really cool.

Wow, color me impressed. I love the shading and depth of color! Not to mention a cool setting to begin with. Very cool stuff.

I really like this. The color gives it a hazy, distant feeling; we are outsiders viewing a moment that seems to float in time. I agree with the above comment that the gate is good without extra detail. And I like the perspective, with the chain hanging in the front of the view.
