If you have read the amazing books by Robert Jordan, the Wheel of Time series, you should be able to recognize these three guys (I hope... XD). This is my interpretation of the main heroes of the story: Matrim Cauthon with his extraordinary luck, Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, and Perrin Aybara, whose connection with wolves is a special ability he's got.

I didn't get them 100 % the way I see them when I read the books, but it's close enough. This picture is made with average pencils, 3H - B, and then I just fixed a few things in the GIMP. I also added a simple frame to make it look more  portrait-ish :). I'm not sure whether I prefer this pencil version, or the coloured one...

Completed December 31th, 2008 (OK, I wasn't completely finished until 00.25 AM, so literally is wasn't finished until January 1th, 2009... But it's still my last picture of 2008!)

*first comment dance* You fianlly put something up! Yay!!!!! Although I haven’t read the WoT series, so can’t really comment properly, I don’t see what you are picking on. I really wish I had your talent with a pencil...

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "Yay! Hehe, I’m still alive, I just needed the holiday to make something new 1. I really recommend you to read those books, they are amazing! And I can’t help but picking on my own art, seeing as I’m really self-critical, but thank you so much for your kind words 11!"

The best interpretation I’ve ever seen! Thanks for sharing.

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "Really 3?! Wow, thank you!
I’m glad my art satisfy fellow WoT-fans 2."

awesome details on their costumes - and i love the triangular format, it works really well.

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "Thanks! I think it’s easier to shade clothes when they are full of details, because then it doesn’t really matter how you shade them 2."

WOW.....how did you learn to draw people? i want to do that next, but i know it’ll be a LONG time.

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "Well, I didn’t start drawing people until I was 13-14’ish, when I realized how pathetic it looked when I drew fairly good horses that looked like they carried around scarecrows instead of people 1. So I just started doodling faces and human bodies in my notebooks at school, and whenever I had a piece of paper in front of me.

I guess I can shorten the story down to the same old saying that we always hear: practice! 2"

That’s great, Mat looks EXACTLY like I pictured him. Perrin looks a bit older than I would have thought and Rand younger but it is still the best version I’ve seen. Great job!

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "Wow, thank you!

I keep getting amazed by the fact that some people share my mental images 2. And it’s kinda hard to make a bearded man look young, hehe!"

First off The wheel of Time series is AWESOME.I have read them all except for the last chapter of the next to the last book,Waiting for the last one. These are almost exactly the way I see these guys.Rand is perfect.Mat and Perrin are so close it is scary. Please keep up the great work.

:-) Michelle Tolo replies: "You are so right about the books, they keep me reading for hours whenever I have time. I’m currently almost finished with book nine, and I know I will get the 10th for my birthday this summer. It’s so exiting!

And you think Rand is perfect? Wow, what are chances for that?! 3"
