Picture 3. I'm not too pleased on having the very edges cut, but.. I didn't have a long time with the scanner, so I was rushed and I really wanted to share these pictures. This one is for Amanda. The kanji is 'Yume', it means 'Dream'. Prismas.

Oh, I like this! But then I'm a fan of mermaids! Horray for you! 1

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "I like mermaids, too ( the feminine side of me comes out!! ). I can't stand how the tails came out.. Mermaids appeal to me when the tails are elaborate and webby and ornate. Mine came out.. plain. It's cool though, I'll take a bit more time on it next time I draw a mermaid. Thanks for the comment."

oh wow. even if you didn't have a colour scheme in mind, I think this turned out amazingly well. Its a very bautiful picture. well done.

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "Well, it's a huge relief to find that people actually like this one. Thank you so much."

Hey this drawing is really really well rendered, the colors are nice and I love the soft subtle shading of them. If you go to my site and look at my water colour stuff, it is not even this good. so Kudos and great job.

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "Thank you! But I think you already know how much your art rocks. ^_-"

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "Well, thank you very much! I stopped by your gallery, and you're quite the colourist yourself. (c:"

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "It's still hard for me to believe the response that this picture has gotten. I was so frustrated with it when I finished it. Thank you so much for your kind comments and for stopping by."

Don't be so hard on yourself!
Your coloring is marvelous an don't nobody let you tell differently !
I really like what you do ...ever thought about doing a comic?
There are some French artists that do " bandes dessinées" and earn a good living with it that aren't half as good as you are!!!
( how's that for a pep-talk? 1 )

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "Awe. ^_^ Yeah, my fears have been nearly abolished. I suppose if everyone likes it, then there must be SOMETHING worth looking back. Thanks for all the support and feedback."

Wow this is really cool. The colors are seriously great and its nice how you filled the entire picture without it looking messy. (im really bad at that)lol keep it up!

:-) J.R. Moody replies: "Lol. Filling up a picture isn't that easy.. It's hard to fill it up and try not to FLUFF it up at the same time, you know? Plus, I'm usually not very patient, so.. it takes some will-power to put in so much freakin' detail. Thank for for the kindness. ^_^"

About your reply to Elizabeth E. Hunter: I agree that color choices can make or break a picture, but I actually think you did a great job for not having planned it or anything. From just looking at the thumbnail I can see clearly defined spaces that are made woth the colors you chose. The picture is devided in half by the blue of the sea and the yellow of the ground and there is a red triangle in the middle whose corners are the fish, octopus, and crab. It is geometric and yet it is also very natural and flowing. I really like it! Your other pictures are great, too. I'm kind of glad you said in your bio that you speak Japanese because I am trying to teach it to myself and I always feel encouraged after seeing others who have learned it. Your style is similar to anime but it is also uniquely different. Very good!!!
