The colors they contrast the dark moon and the bright and lively red the girl is wearing. Also, what does the chinese symbol mean? J.R. Moody replies: "Mm.. Alice and Wonderland is one of my favourite films/books.. EVER. I had an Alice and the Caterpillar picture using this same design ( elaborate, detailed center with a strange border ).. I made copies, gave them to friends, and lost the original. I'm still trying to find someone who will give me one of theirs back so I can copy it again and put it up here. As odd a comment as I know this is, I was enchanted by the work put into the floorboards, and I love the effect of the strand of pearls around the neck of the glass. About the floorboards.. I'll let you in on an embarassing portion of the picture. A long, long time ago, when I actually watched anime, I had a poster of Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion lying on her stomach, on a hardwood floor, with a glass of wine next to her ( and I think some keys ). I used to stare at that picture all the time, because I thought that it was strangly beautiful. Well, that ( obviously ) snuck into this picture. ^_^ Anyway, the embarassing part.. I was having trouble with the perspective on the floorboards. They look okay now, but before, they used to cover the whole picture. Out where the moon is, the lines all came together unevenly and looked like total crap. So the only actual reason that the moon is in the picture ( as much as I like there now ) is because I couldn't handle the floorboard perspective and took an easier route.
