"Calypso" by Maria Karchevsky

Was this one computer colored? It is such a neat feeling I get from this one. The fact there is no background adds to it. It makes me see that she has lost herself in this dance....like we do in our art sometimes. The outside world stops for a minute and lets us breath in our own.

I was actually going to add a background with the rest of her gypsy family in their home, but it just didn't look right so I guess you're right about wut it was meant to seem like.

That's really kewl. I love the movement . . . the pose . . . the . . . never mind, WOW! That almost looks like something I would draw (O_o whether that's good or bad, you can tell. ^^))

I particularly like her face and neck - the lines there are well placed. I like the color scheme, too, and the whole piece gives off a feeling of movement, aiding in the impression of a dance... very very nice!

This is really nice, but I would love to see some more shading on it.

anyway.. the pic is great.. I love her face and posse... I agree about the shading though...

I dunno perhaps it's just the colors that attracted me to this picture before the rest, but it is really nice, I think my favorite of all of them. She just seems so sweet, and you did such a great job drawing it, it's just buetiful. I thought so the first time I saw it, but now that it's getting closer to christmass I came here trying to get some inspiration on what to get you for a gift, and noticed I never stoped and took the time to tell you what I thought about the pictures you had here, although I normally do when you let me look threw your sketch book, or in those rare instances when I'm there while your drawing. The only thing I find kind of odd about this picture is that you can see the outlines of her arms/etc under her hair, which I know just cause hair is infront of it doesn't mean it's completely blocked out of sight, although it could be it still looks really great regardless, that's just my attempt of trying to critize/bring something to your attention that you might not of noticed.

I absolutely love this picture. Fantastic! There is one thing, however, than I can find wrong with it. If you look at it, her right hand (viewer's right) is backwards. If you hold up your hand just like her's, someone standing before you will be looking at your little finger, not your thumb. Other than the backwards hand, this is just beautiful and so graceful. She looks like she's really lost in the music and the rythem of the dance.
