An excellent sci-fi/fantasy series I love (with a little romance thrown in 12) is Sharon Shinn’s Archangel series. It’s about genetically created "angels" (done so far back they can’t remember how they came into being and believe their god, Jehovah, created them). The first one, Archangel, tells the story of Rachel, who has been chosen by Jehovah to become the new archangel-to-be (Gabriel)’s bride. She also has another series, the Thirteenth House. Robin McKinley’s The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword are two amazing ones. And of the books from Tamora Pierce’s Tortall works.

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "Alright! Excellent! I can’t wait to go to Barns & Noble and check out some of these books. The Archangel series sounds quite interesting. I will have to check it out. Thank you very much for the suggestions!"

You are very welcome! 1

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "I went to barns and Noble today and looked at a few of the books you recommended. I must say, I may just have to re-write my Christmas novel list. Thanks again! "

Haha! I love that you have a Christmas novel list too! I’ve got some books from Shannon Hale and a few others on mine right now that I’m wanting to try out.

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "Yeah. Around Christmas, I am forbidden from buying any books. Its horrible, but the reward is well worth the wait. And, any books I don’t receive for Christmas I can get next month for my birthday! I would tell you my list, but, alas, it is too long...2"

Haha! I’m not allowed to buy things for myself coming up on Christmas. But yes, a lot of the time I don’t end up getting all of the books on my list, even if they are the only thing on my list and there’s only 4 or so books because my family wants to get a variety of things ... they don’t realize that books are the best thing to get me 1

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "I agree. Of course, I generally have many different items on my list for just that reason, but I really do want mostly books. Reading is a major part of my de-stress-ify routine. That, and writing, which I’ve had almost zilch time for. All I’ve done so far is papers papers papers!!! ARGH!"

It’s the same for me .... if I’m stressed, I read and disappear into a magical world. If I’m having trouble with my writing, I go and read for an hour and suddenly the writer’s block has disappeared 1

I definitely don’t miss writing papers! I would always leave them until the last couple of days before they were due 10 But I had better go and get some more Christmas shopping done!

Hugs

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "I can’t leave papers until he last moment. My anal tendencies won’t allow it. Oh well... I’ll get finished eventually. Have fun shopping!!!"

Thanks! I managed to get everything except for one person 1

Ah, if I try to work on it way ahead of time I end up losing interest. For some reason, all of my best ideas come when I’m under pressure. I usually start the project the week before it’s due. I find it gives me enough time to get it finished 1

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "Agreed. i usually have my school projects done three or four days early so I can comb over them for mistakes. Drive my friends and family nuts. Oh well...Now all I have to do is survive Semester Exams and then its CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! 1"

Merry Christmas Rachel!

:-) Rachel N. LeBeane replies: "And a very Merry Christmas to you as well, Lindsay. Have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year! God bless."
