So how big is the original anyway? I mean, a good size to put all that detail into it, am I right? Crosshatching my goddess... my will simply isn't strong enough to do that when I pencil, I just go in whatever direction my hand feels like with no regard to what I might want... Amazing. Must be good quality, smooth paper, too. I'm so jealous... and forgot what else I was going to say. Ah well.

Ok.. for the record.. I just measured him with a ruler. He's almost exactly 4.25" wide, and 9 & an eighth inch tall. The woodsman is almost exactly the same size (as it's in the same drawing book). The paper is rather smooth, though nothing special. I bought a loop-wire bound pad at Barnes and Noble.

Seriously? You draw with a magnifying glass then, right? I was thinking he was at least 12 inches tall... Yaigh.

Y'know... from I can see this isn't actually CROSS-hatching. It's techinically just hatching. I can't see any persay crossed lines and since cross hatching requires lines to be... crossing... well. Maybe The just isn't good enough. Not that it matters really. Good drawing.

Dude, I'm sorry this totally didn't come out right. I meant to say that the scan probably didn't come out well enough and I couldn't see all the lines, or maybe my screen isn't good enough to see them all. I really like this drawing. I do. I'm sorry that my comment came off as offensive.

Hamilton: Hey, the comment didn't come off as offensive... it was just one of those comments that made me roll my eyes, because it sounded hoity-toity and nit-pickish... not only that, but it seemed pretty baseless to me. I used cross-hatching, although I guess you can't really see... I pride myself in working hard at showing my lines, and making them blend seamlessly... it just seemed like not only a trivial thing to criticize, but unfounded. I apologize for reacting a bit harshly, so let's just kiss and make up.

Ok I've decided I HATE YOU! Why can't I draw like this????? Oh I forgot I can really. Its just that well today someone stole my pencil sharpener and well you know how it is you can't crosshatch with a blunt pencil and well also I have this injury that my Doc says is brought on by utter jealousy and he told me to rest my drawing hand. Oh and added to that all the paper in the world just vanished like an old oak table(sorry that was a Blackadder ref. I won't do it again I promise) So I have nothing to draw on to prove it. Sheesh, sorry you'll just have to take my word for it. Hehehehehe.

Wow, this is so not fair! When I try cross hatching, I get a tiny checkerboard, and that's about it, not a masterpiece like you! GRRR!!!
