sorta goes with the 'Silver Thread' thing, which isn't going to be uploaded for at least another year, becasue it's not even close to being finished. it'll be alot easier to understand after you read the story.

Dark Secret

I’ve gone as far as I can go,

I can’t go on much longer,

As strong as I may claim to be,

My father, still, is stronger.

I sit upon a snow-white cloud,

Take time to rest my weary wings,

Aware of what is in the past,

Aware of what the future brings.

An angel’s wings adorn my back,

But my heart behind is screaming,

For the blood that courses through my veins

Is the dark blood of a demon.

This pain, this hurt, is mine to bear,

I don’t know which is worse,

Lying to the ones I love,

Or standing alone against my curse.

I live a hard and wretched life,

Banished from my world, my home,

How long do I have to live?

How can I live alone?

This secret, deep inside of me

Rests heavy on my heart,

Upon the very soul within,

It’s tearing me apart.

My source of pain and suffering,

These dark and evil lies,

But my feelings are as meaningless

As the teardrops from my eyes.

A flame is glowing deep inside,

Burning, as I will in Hell,

I’ve known the pain and blind confusion,

I know that I can never tell.

I only wear a smile to mask

The monster I will soon become,

Hiding for eternity,

Forever, as the devil’s son.

I'm impressed! I think you could illustrate this one - certainly the poem itself is a very clear, dramatic image. Like Caitlyn, I think your rhyming is very effective. (We need a directory of poets, I think. Maybe I'll start some links in my next update).

13 Yuki Erika Radcliffe replies: "Yes... Yes, i think i will illustrate this one. if i ever get around to it. That's a wonderful idea.Sankyu!"

This poem is awesome! You can feel the feeling and tension throughout the whole poem. It also has great rhythm that is held! It's brilliant!

11 Yuki Erika Radcliffe replies: ""hullo"... esme, was it? i recognized your name on my page and decided to say "hullo," so... "hullo."i'm currently in the process of reading one of your stories, but i'm not done with it yet, there's just too much to do at the moment, but as soon as i finish, i'll stop in again.sankyu, byebye!"

I'm dying to read your story! XD This is cool-the devil's son? ^_^

:-) Yuki Erika Radcliffe replies: "yup, the devil's son. One of the two main characters is named Sein (odd name, i know). his father is the devil, who had married an angel, and sein was the result. it's really wierd, see, the devil is 1/4 human, so sein's not really half-and-half, like i'd originally planned. and then there's all these family problems, marriage and divorce, adultry, incest... if you are offended by any of this, maybe you might want to change your mind about reading my story. and if you are a homophobe, same thing. but i'm not gonna tell you no more, i'll give away the rest of the story if i don't stop now."

Wow, love it! It's a great job you did, to show the feelings from somebody in a poem in this way 2 Love it, love it, love it!
And a son of the devil must be a very interesting character to work with 2

1 Yuki Erika Radcliffe replies: "definitely interesting. I actually use this character in Silver Thread - it's not all submitted, but it's all finally written and will be entirely uploaded in a couple of months if you'd like to read it."
