I draw it, scan it, and color it in Adobe Photoshop 5.5.

Do you know any tricks or shortcuts?
No. Get someone else to do it? Honestly, no.

Do you use a tablet?
ETA: I've recently gotten a tablet. Whether this improves my art in any way remains to be seen. But I am eating a whole lot of crow now, for claiming that "anything that can be done with a tablet can be done with a mouse"! Now that I've tried both, I can honestly say that's not the case.
