"A Rose" by ´Minnie´ Mae Hopkins

Yu know i love how yu draw like this........ that black and white contrast and just, everything, it's really impressive. Something i hope to be able to do some day. Love this *^.^*

You do great black and whites, have you ever tried charcoal?I think you would like it.

Hmm....Hm..Heeei great idea(at least i think so) what is you do the rose whit red...It will make a tantastic contrast with the black and white...Again just an idea,but it's great like this also

'Minnie' Mae Hopkins replies: "Actually, I did do something similar to your idea a few years ago with that picture. I did a black paper collage/mosiac with it, and had no color, but the red rose for the contest. Unfotunatly, the judges weren't really appreciative to the manga style of art I did. Oh well. Alot of other people liked it!"

I have asked a few people if they wanted to do a book cover for me.. if i get a book published..
i would give the person doing it full credit..

It's very interesting that when you are depressed, your style of drawing changed completely. It's mainly the eyes, and the whole thing is devoid of color. The contrast is magnificant, and it's so different from al your other works --lively and colorful. This and the other depressed pciture of the crying woman are very cool, and so are your other works. The rose is well drawn as well, good job on both!

When your gallery first caught my eye, It was the 'Anger'
Image that drew my attention. I blinked and saw the shift of color and emotion. This is what marks a truly GREAT artist. I'm still trying to Re-Attach my lower jaw. *shift<->* *Crunch* Anyway, I was wondering two things: 1. would you be kind enough to look at one of my new pics, 'Emil Iris' I have a distinct lack of critics. It's quite depressing. 2. My Sister is attending NY college of art & design. Her art is just as good as yours (oh BS, yours IS better.) Look into 'NY college of art & design, also I think there is a summer art school there called 'MICA' or something.
