I LOVE this guy - he's just so wacky. It pains me that something so cute could be molded by my hands. Grurl, like Snerk, is made from polymer clay, only he's substantially bigger and quite a bit more complicated. Also, he's in a pot. I suspect he's drunk. He looks, to me, like something of a lush.

Happily, he was sold at Ad Astra in Toronto at the beginning of April, 2004. Yay. He's been painted in acrylics.

Awh that's sooo adorable! I just love that tongue!
Love Rian

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I like the tongue too - I gave him big teeth initially, but they didn't suit him."

I think it's those short, flappy arms that top off that big bowl of silly cuteness! Flappy little arms=CUTE!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Yep, he's the most harmless dragon ever. 2"

Oh yeah... this guy's a seller alright... I mean, just look at him. He's practically screaming "Take me home with yooooou!"

He's so cute he pains me. Really. 2

Nice work on the eyes BTW...

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thanks, doll, your comments are always appreciated. What pains me even more is that I'm going to make MORE of these cute, fat dragons. *sigh* I guess I don't want to starve."

BEEEEEEEER! *LOL* I adore him. The colours, the pose, he's just perfect. When you make polymer creatures, you have to put the eyes on after they're baked, right? I've always wondered if that's tricky.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Yes, it's tricky, at least I think so. I had to make the holes while he was soft, so his eye cavity is actually too small, but happily the eylids still fit and he looks okay. It was my first try using pre-fab eyes."

He's so cute......Will he bite me if I pick him up?

Congratulations on getting a mods choice. 2

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "It wouldn't matter, he has no teeth !"

He he he . . . funny! This reminds me of what my box turtle looks like when he flips himself over, waving those little limbs in the air while giving that, "PICK ME UP!" look! But this guy looks like he wants a hug, or more beer!!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I once stopped my car on a highway in order to turn a turtle right side up after getting sideswiped by a car. I set him in the ditch and he immediately crawled away unhurt."

Amazing!
There aren't many sculptures in Elfwood, and I'm happy to see such a good one.
You're also invited to see mine.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Cool ! I will, just not tonight, cause I need to go to bed (and James Bond just came on, darnit !). Thanks for the comment."

Its so cute! How big is it?

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "He is about 5 inches tall and maybe four across. Thanks very much. 2"
