She originally had wings because I wanted to join the thousands in Elfwood with pictures of Succubi. I hated the wings. I tried to make her dancing with a veil, but the veil looked dumb. So, it's just some impish female dancing. I didn't use a model (which I think is clear from the slightly unlikely lighting), however, her body looks like that belonging to a friend of mine that I have drawn nude, so I guess figure study does pay off. Mech pencil and skinny inky pen.

Oh sweet! First comment!!

As a succubi maniac as I am, I will say that this is few of pieces of art that doesn't require wings. Actually it looks much better without, and don't ever feel limited to other peoples set boundaries. The pose and penciling parade both originallity and great detail. I love it!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Ah sweet, finally a comment ! Thanks, Sean. I rather like to think of her as a succubus, so your comment is welcomed. I've never managed to get the cliches quite right, ever, and I'm damn proud of that fact. I'm glad you appreciate my atypical Succubus. 2"

She sure doesn't look very nice and would rip the head off any female encroaching on her territory. As I've commented somewhere else on your gallery, I can only draw stick people, but I was able to picture her with wings and it would have taken away from the picture instead of added to it I think. *goes back to looking and commenting*

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Well, she probably isn't very nice, but she's fun. Within limits, anyway. 2 I wanted to put in a veil, but I just couldn't get it right, so she's just dancing around in the buff."

She makes me think of a female Azazel... Asimov's lil demon.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I'm not as familiar with Asimov as I ought to be, but I'll accept this as a compliment. 2"

You really capture her true essence, don't you? It's wonderful...although, the tail looks painful....lol, but that's just me and my squirms. 2

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thanks much for that. I'm glad I left out the wings."

Especially since, without arrabging the wings in a very strange fashion, it would be impossible to see the expression on her face, which is the heart and soul of the picture, really. If such craetures have souls...

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I think she's got a soul. And yes, the wings were going to obscure her, you're absolutely right."

The previous comment was before I actually joined up with Elfwood. Now I'm like an official elf or something...
