Done late in 2002, this is my first painted commission. I was given parameters, 'Dwarves and women,' and went from there. This is what came of it. I happen to love it. There's a whole story in this picture, if you take the time to look at it. It's watercolour and pencil on watercolour paper.

I do remember Gimli talking about Dwarf women looking much like their men and how some people think Dwarves simply pop out of the Earth.

This picture made my day. It really did. My screen name has to do with female dwarves. 1 I especially like how the female dwarves have neater (as in, well cared-for) beards. They look feminine, energetic ("Heck, yes," I hear the redhead say.), and bawdy. Whee!

Okay, now that’s out my system, the... drunkenness (is that a word?) is rife in this picture. I’m getting tipsy just looking at it.

Why does everyone care so frackin’ much about the beards? It’s good art. Good fantasy art. Good, imaginative fantasy art. Okay?

No, really. Great job!
