I'm quite proud of this one. A commission for a friend. It's our characters (Derlachai in the chair and Suliss - yes, the same Suliss - behind) at an early point in their relationship. Suliss, at one point, was entrusted to him as civil war broke out in her city. He, while a decent guardian in the beginning, eventually handed her off to the rebels. Not nice. Anyway, he likes it and I like it, too. Pencils of varying hardness.

awesome work here Maya! I love the chair, the sword and boots especially, and I like that the guy is going to do mean things to the wee one. Muahahhahaha

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "*laugh* Well, when she's all grown up, she's got bad things in store for him. Payback's like that. I'm glad you like this and thanks for the comment. 2"

This is indeed most hot.
The Pencil work, the pencil being my own favoured tool to the exception of all else, is most amazing here, very good and "liney" but detailed and clear. Ah, contradiction, I just love that stuff. And hypocritisism. And not being able to spell words, especially when it appears i have just made them up!
The smudged-in tone at the top gives it a great feel too.

Well done! You are right to be proud.

A-Dam

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "*laugh* Well, Derlachai's player would be thrilled to hear how 'hot' this is, if I ever spoke to him anymore. I have lost total contact, sadly. But I'm glad this piece works for you. I feel it's a real good'un."

While the shading and idea for the picture is original and beautiful, I must say that they both look a little tight, tense and maybe moody.

Woah I just described myself. ANYWAYS, this is great and I wish that I could shade "half" as well as you do! When I shade everything looks black. lol

keep up the awesome work!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Well, if that's how they look, then I got it PERFECT. Thanks. 12"

I like the expression on the guy's face...looks like he's up to something. P.s. This was all done in pencil? Wow.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "All done in pencil, yep. Though I used my finger as a smudge stick. I use the 12 pencil sets with the different hardnesses of lead."

The man in the chair looks like he wants to kill the little girl

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "That would not be incorrect."

I love his expression, and hers as well. Also, I really like their poses, very original. Great job!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thank you very much. Recently I'd been thinking that this piece didn't stand up to more recent works, but you know, it's actually not bad. I'm glad you like it. 2"

Maya! I'm taking your drow tour and remember Derl & Suliss fondly.... you still drawing, I hope? (love from the elf formerly known as Tuanally)

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I'm still drawing. Just not much lately. Not rp'ing at all, though, these days."

Someone's gonna get in trouble, and I don't think it's the important looking guy in the chair. Totally love the name!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Knowing those two, he'd get her in trouble, and she'd make trouble for him and they'd both end up irritated. "

I saw this pic and saved it a long time ago, but didn't comment on it... so I thought I'd do that now ^-^

He hands her off to the rebels..? Was that before, while, or after they had a relationship..?

Well, anyway, I love this pic!! I really do, it's honoustly one of my favorites on elfwood... I love the story behind it, but I love his pose and expression (and good looks 0.0) too, ofcourse, and the girls expression is great...

I'm really glad I found this pic again!! ^-^

It's awesome!!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Wow, thank you very much ! He handed her off while she was a child... NOW, centuries later, they are lovers - oh, the world of On-line roleplay is a bizarre place ! But it's a complicated relationship doomed to fail. 2"
