This is my favourite piece since The Drowning, I think. There's a gentleness to it that is so sweet, so painful...

The way their hands are almost touching... If one of them would just stretch out their fingers, but, both are so sure of the finality of their situation. They have reached an impass, as one inevitably does with love. Can they overcome it? Is it worth it? That is for them to decide.

Mechanical pencil and ink pen.

Stunning, their expressions are so realistic. They remind me a lot of my boyfriend and myself- we are so stubbon and we'll both just stay mad for no reason. Luckily though, we tend to get over it at the same time. I can see these guys reaching for each other and working through things. At least, I hope so. Great shading and pose.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thank you very much. My best friend said what you said, and I agree. I think they'll work it out. Though their faces are set, their body language is open. Sometimes, that how love is."

I wish I could draw something like this, BUT my best mate insists on flicking through my personal pictures and saying something nasty about each pic...

And if she saw that I had drawn a naked lady...

y'know I don't want to get into that!!!
It's great that someone has the courage and talent to draw something like this,,, this good Great picture, the anatomy is, WOW!!!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "It doesn't sound to me like your best mate is terribly supportive of your work. There's nothing wrong with the naked figure. It doesn't take courage to draw something like this, it just requires that you not give a damn about the people that criticize you. Thanks for the compliments."

I really like how they look so young, alert, wild and free.. like nature itself. It reminds me of springtime. I like how their sitting also- wonderful job!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thanks very much. I am extremely pleased with this piece. I rarely love my work when I set down the pencil."

I love their bodies! And the expressions on their faces, someone angerd them...They are beautiful, i love his horns, and her hair, and necklace, its a nice femine touch!

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Many thanks ! She's wearing an anklet, too, if you look closely. I haven't stopped being satisfied with this piece, I like them both so much. 2"

She has a belly! It made me smile. The man is beautiful. I can't draw men for anything. It is the mark of true talent to be as good at men as you are at women.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I did, at one time, have a lot of trouble drawing men. I worked on it through the early years of highschool and eventually overcame it. I love drawing men almost as much as drawing women. I've learned to appreciate the masculine form in the same was I do the feminine, though they are quite different. I don't know if you looked around through my galleries, but you will have noticed that I like drawing females with bellies and realistic figures. If anything, I think I stylise my male forms more than my female. Thanks so much for the comment !"

Its really good I like it alot but I always thought the females of the race were the nymphs and the males are satyrs and fauns. This way is interesting though.2

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Ya, that's the traditional mythology. I'm not one to be a stickler for tradition, though. I view it as something more like a stepping-off place for my imagination. Thanks for the comment."

You certainly got the attitude down great. The girl's feet bother me for some reason, they seem oddly twisted. I can't say that they are, they just seem like it.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Well, they are twisted because of the way she's sitting, but I don't see the problem. Anyway, thanks for the comment. "
