Shakespeare is one of the world's greatest inspirations for musicians, artists, dancers, writers, you name it. This is my vision of Titania, queen of the Fae, and the ever impish Puck (and yes, I've made him a satyr). Ink pen, coloured pencils, and touched up in PS7.

This is just lovely - you've really caught the expressions! You have a great technique and skill with coloured pencils. And you have a wonderful ability to create totally unique characteristics to well known characters!br>;br>;I've been through your gallery and would love to comment on all of them, but I'll just say, here, that all your work is unique in style. Feel free to drop in for tea or mead and a wander around my wee gallery 2

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Wow, thanks for that super comment (and you're always welcome to leave others - I won't complain). I just never quite saw Titania as some milky-white-skinned fae. As for the mead, I've got some aging in the kitchen. *grin*"

Orangey hair really suits Puck. I like the way you've put the leaf-shape as the background...frames them nicely.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "Thanks a lot, deary. The leaf was a total afterthought, which is evident in the non-photoshoped version since Puck's hand sticks through the frame. *laugh*"

Titania makes me smile 2 She looks like she must have a wonderful sense of humor and in a way looks more like a matriarch than some of the more regal Titania's I've seen. I think its that she looks like she is used to power, kinda bemused by it, and considers it simply to be part of her.

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "She would have to have a good sense of humour what with having Puck and Oberon at her sides. Thanks very much for the comment. 2"

I'm suprised to see some one actually get it right! Puck is a saytr...But so many women have had to play him as a her ppl got the wrong idea...Lol

:-) Maya R. Hirschman replies: "I think Puck can be interpreted many ways, though traditionally, yes, he's a satyr or faun. I like Satyrs though so any excuse to draw one will do. 2"

Having browsed through your pictures (I think I'm hooked), I just have to say something that's a little odd, but I promise it's a compliment. I love, love, love the fact that you put little folds of fat around your characters' midriffs. It's realistic and honest. Ok.

About the picture: Fabulous! Have you ever done Ariel? He's my personal favorite in Shakespearian literature.
