  | Vanya is a character I currently play on the text-based fantasy roleplaying game, Realms of Despair. Many of my drawings are based on characters from that game. Below you will find her character description. In case it's not evident, as it was meant to be implied, she's leaned on the gunwale of her ketch. Skin the rich colour of ground cinnamon and hair black like a raven's wing, this woman has an air about her of poise, of trained movement. Large, almond eyes of dark brown are complimented with thick, black lashes and arching brows. Her hair, windblown and slightly curling, is held back in a emerald scarf. Her nose is very straight, but suited to the slender shape of her face, her mouth typically set in a serious line. Often wearing a contemplative expression, her skin shows little sign of laughter, although she does not appear unkind. Her garb is typically a loose-fitting blouse, embroidered in many colours of intricate geometric designs and birds on the wing. Trousers cut short and fastened below her knees leave her calves bare and show off her strangely pointed and again embroidered slippers. A rapier hangs on her left hip, a maingauche her right. Drawn during a D&D session in June, 2006. Pencil on printer paper, scanned and altered slightly (15% brown fill with overlay) in Photoshop. |
