Here I stand, proud and tall

On top of a mountain, looking o'er all

With the Wind in my hair and the sun on my face

There is no one else there to get on my case

For blankly staring out into space

With the innocence of a newborn lamb

This is who I am.

The Wind makes me happy and I sigh

For I long to spread my wings out and fly

And soar with the birds flying up in the sky

But I have no wings, so I cannot fly

So I stand on the mountain up so high

And stare longingly at the newborn lamb

This is who I am.

The newborn lamb calls to me

"Don't stand here anymore" says she

"Come down from the mountain so you can be free"

So I tell her, "You must know that I cannot go

For I must stand on this mountain be

What the world wants me to be

I can't go with you, but please don't leave me"

So I stayed on the mount with the newborn lamb

This is who I am.

I don't want to stand here; I'm not proud or tall

I hate being on this mountain; I don't want to look o'er all

I am no longer happy, but still I sigh

For I still long to spread my wings out and fly

And fly away from this place high up in the sky

So again I stare longingly at the newborn lamb

This is who I am.

It's decided, I will be free

I will not be a clone, I will be me

I feel power, I feel strength, they are welling up inside

I am smart, I am agile, I shall no longer hide

From whom I am and what I can be

There is nothing like I am; there is no one like me

I am done with this, I am breaking these chains

I am leaving this mountain, I am leaving these pains

I am growing my wings, I am flying away

I shall never come back, no longer shall I stay

While all of this, I am being accompanied by the newborn lamb

This is truly who I am.
