SciFi and Fantasy Art Kaja by Mia ´Losmios´ Bengtsson

Kaja is the name of the unicorn (mare), and means jackdaw. The jackdaw is a small bird of the corvus family, which you regularly find in Europe but not really anywhere else.

Photoshop made as per usual, the drawing itself no more then a few hours, then a huge amount of indescisive tuning and tweaking of colors and whatnot.

PLEASE go see this image here, as this one doe snot do the detail justice one bit! DI not comment unles syou've seen the large version first!

19 Jul 2006	Vanessa L. Johnson	Loading... Wonderful work, and congrats on a well-earned Mod's Choice! The lighting and shading is excellent, as is the level of detail. I do have a couple of minor nitpicks over the anatomy. Either Kaja's eye is too high or her cheek and muzzle are too low and heavy; her head is just a bit unbalanced. The horn appears to be slightly skewed to Kaja's right, and her right foreleg seems to be set close and too far forward on her body, giving her a narrow front. Apart from those few points, the anatomy is near perfect (always difficult to achieve with horses), so congratulations again! Beautiful piece.

You captured the equine form beautifully, making her more majestic and enchanting than any real horse could ever be. The detail is wonderful, and the contrast adds so much the the picture. Amazing work! The mod's chose great pictures today.

Would have been rather cliche to say that you captured the Kaje-spirit in the unicorn, but I really think so! Wonderful use of contrasts and the black looks so silky soft!
