I was going through a tiny pocket book about greek mythology, when I found a picture with this horse in it. I just fell so in love with it, even though the image was only a cuople of centimeters wide on both ways and in black and white. So I based this horse on that one in the art. The artists last name was Rubens.
Nothing else in my image is from the art though. But I felt I should try to do some buildings, hence I'm so crappy with it...I'm sorry bout the perspective, it's really messed up! *grin* I had fun doing it though, took me about four or five hours I think...For the walls I used a textured pencil, and I really liked the result!
'Bout the story of the pic : I think it's locked up in some old monastery, with this little outside pasture to feel the sunlight and eat som grass in...

Now, I know some of you will complain about the wings and usually I do a lot bigger ones, but in this case I felt it suited the image better. So, sorry if you don't like it, but that's the way it is!

Wow!
Very beautiful piece! I love the linen draperies in the background, and the overall setting is very nice. Pieceful.
However, I do agree with the first comment; the arch of the neck is too large for the movement and position of the head...and I can't help but feel that the back legs are too far apart...Otherwise, the picture is gorgeous!

first off, i’ll say that this is amazing! the texture and lighting are well done too. i don’t know much about equine anatomy, however, i did notice that it’s head curves a little too much. he could have a roman nose, but then his jawbone and that area would be fuller.

The perspective does seem slightly off now that you mention it, but it seems perfectly fine. It actually fits the picture. Personally, I know about horses, so the anatomy is something I can’t comment on, but it’s amazing. You can feel the history in the being, like it’s about to take us to olden times.
