After I sold my first Attack of the Hatchlings! original painting, I got a request from a jealous sister who wanted a similar painting, but with a pegasus instead of a unicorn (her sister had a print of the first painting, and she didn't want exactly the same thing). Who was I to say no?

So, here we have a young pegasus (a pastel pegasus no less) making her way through an enchanted forest to meet up with her friend the unicorn, when wham! Hatchling dragon ambush! It's a good thing she knows the hatchlings, or she might be a little bit upset about them dangling from her feathers and messing up her mane...

I really do love your art, like so many others, but I think that you should practice making each hatchling different in other aspects than colour, in order to give them more personality. Like, one could be skinny, or fat, another might have a longer snout than the others...etc. You were right, btw, the fethers are really nice. I wish I could do water colours like you do! Misti Hope Wudtke replies: "Thanks for your comment! And I appreciate your input on the idea of giving each hatchling a bit more of a personality--it’s one of the things I’ve had in mind for a long time, and I just haven’t had a chance to develop any specific characters yet, which is what I’d like to do. But you and I were definitely thinking along the same lines there...thanks!"
