'It was by starlight that I first really saw him. I came to tell him the coffeemaker was broken, and there he was, bared to the sea of space. The cockpit lights were off and his shades were in his hand. I was taken aback because, even though I knew it wasn't so, still I had always figured his ever-hidden eyes must be ice blue. But no, they were, of course, a soft vulnerable pink. In the cold starlight they seemed almost warm. And facing the abyss without the armored spacesuit, framed by light against the dark, this war machine seemed almost human.'

Polaris (center) and China (left) from a story I've been thinking about for a while, too weird to explain here, though hopefully that little bit above gives enough hints so the picture makes sense.

Colored pencil on black paper, my first attempt.

Aww..... it's cute........
Heh coffee....
Yah. Non-erasable materials are fun to draw with...... but they're angrymaking sometimes. You're forgiven for the chunky hands....
ellipses.......
.........blame colin...............
Just wondering if they're naturally those colors or if its for dramatic effect. Your might want to purple China a little bit so she doesn't steal so much attention from Polaris.
otherwise....
Schmexxellent!

10 Milla Lindqvist replies: "Yeah, they're both way too bright, the picture was not planned well, because while I was planning it I drew such a nice face for Polaris that I just drew the rest on the spot, and it turned out crap. (Most of the actual picture isn't even in the scan, because it was so awful. I gave it to Mom cause I didn't even want to keep it :b) The red on China is supposed to be lighting from inside the ship, the blue is supposed to be starlight. It doesn't help that nothing else turned out good either (Polaris looks old, the figure drawing is crap, the cockpit is way too spacious and bland...) blargh. I have to make a new version of this when I get back, when I'm not rushed for a deadline."

The first thought through my mind: "HOLY CRAP!"

Excellent work as usual; the colors are so vibrant.

23 Milla Lindqvist replies: "heh thanks, it's nothing like i imagined, though...even the feeling is completely different. i really need to redo this picture :b"
