Bradamante is one of the greatest female knights in literature. Bradamante is the sister of Rinaldo, and one of the heroines of Orlando Furioso, Ludovico Ariosto's handling of the Charlemagne legends. She is an expert fighter, and wields a magical lance that unhorses every one it touches. She later falls in love and marries the Moorish prince Ruggiero following his conversion to Christianity.

I have taken some liberty with the myth by placing her on the hippogryph, which became Ruggiero's steed after Bradamonte defeated it's previous owner Atlantes, an enchanter and who was holding Ruggiero in hope of saving him from the fate of......... oh god, it to complicated to summarize here, just go read it yourselves.

Absolutely amazing. I love the detail of both Hippogriff, rider and the city. The billowing cloak is very well done. The colours look great. The rider's armour is nice... Good light too.

Spectacular. I love the content, Bradamante really deserves attention! Adding to that, the execution is spectacular. The color and the perspective really add a sense of depth, and somehow the whole picture looks very exuberant. I really, really like this, one of my favorites on elfwood for the last couple of weeks.

Wow, I am amazed the balance you achieved between the eagle head and forelegs and the horse body!

REally nice picture. It's hard to name a specific strength of this art, as everything about is simply excellent. (If I was a horse fancier though, I would not want THAT thing's food bill!) I will definitely have to look up the Bradamante stories.

I love this, especially the beast! Although the rider has a kinda weird helmet, I love the armour too. That hippogrif is just so superb, can't tell you...
