Medea was a devotee of the goddess Hecate, and one of the great sorceresses of the ancient world. She was the daughter of King Aeetes of Colchis, and the granddaughter of Helios, the sun god. She killed a lot of people including her two sons by Jason (of Argonauts fame). But some how she always got away, kind of an odd myth.

Very powerful. I think you captured the emotion that drove her to the act perfectly. I have spent many hours discussing the play of the same name, and I think you captured the feeling of much of the play in this image. Question: do you think she regretted it in the end?

Wow! This is one strong picture! I am impressed by your watercolor skills. Usually, when I look at watercolor artworks, I find it really lukewarm because most artists don't shade much and they mix too much water with the medium (I know, I do!) But this piece is truly amazing. I'm speechless!

I was part of this play in high school and I've always loved this depiction of her. That expression is exactly what I imagined she should have. The only thing that bugs me is the had in the background. Other than that, exquisite!

If you ever see the new release 300, this reminds me of the wife in the after effect of her "fight". Amazing, I learned about Medea in Classical Mythology class, she does look like how I pictured her. Great job!

Wow!!
