SciFi and Fantasy Art celtic horse by M. L. Mehlhorn


	This was a temporary work of art in the annual sidewalk chalk festival a while back. I won 15th place for it, and it lasted nearly two weeks before the foot traffic erased it out of existence...

18 Dec 1999	Laura Freeman	Loading... A sidewalk chalk festival...what a cool idea! We should have one here in Seattle, except that it would probably get rained away before one could finish! Anywho, I like this a lot, it's very beautiful and mystical. Only 15th place? I bet it was out of like, 2,000 or something, though, right?
16 Jan 2000	The artist	Loading... Actually Laura, it wouldn't get washed away in Seattle any more than it did here. I live about two hours north of you. ;-) And it was out of thirty... although my entry this year was washed away by the next day due to being out front of a bank who apparently didn't share the northwest artsy spirit of the whole thing. I'll scan in that one when I have a chance and post it here.

16 Feb 2000	Lia Bucci	Loading... Ooooh! This is so neat! What a great design! And it has Ogham!!! If my books weren't packed away right now I'd try to decipher it. Does it say anything??? How very creative to mix a "real" horse emerging from a symbol/drawing. I love it! Time for me to improve on my knotwork pix!
22 Jul 2000	Nico Danell	Loading... BEAUTIFUL! Grrr. 15th? I bet the judges were all on drugs! Or... something. looks at clock Bedtime. Heh. Anyhow, again, I really like this... It's such a shame it was only temporary! Maybe you should try re-doing it in coloured pencils on paper?
