Nice work. Thanks Kathleen! The armies took a whle but I feel my perspective is a little 'out' - although I could say it adds to the effect of swooping with the Nazgul?

Not that there would be many people left in the world who don't know what a Nazgul is - and white certainly works a lot better in the context of the picture.
| 13 Mar 2003 | David Eagleton | Loading...Whoa!!!! John, this is fantastic. The way the eye swoops down just as the Nazgul is just about to is a brilliant touch, I almost feel as though I'm flying next to him like one of the nine. That army at the bottom steals the show though, I take my hat off to you for the detail. Like the way you've tried to go against the PJ fell beast...but it does look a bit too dragonny, and it must have some very strange anatomy to be able to do that. When doing glowing things I try to fade out the surrounding few milimetres, whether in pencil or in paint. But I shall take off my critical head and cast it aside for this is brilliant LOL! Thanks David! Tha trick with the fade will come in handy - next pic I draw I'll try and use it! I didn't want to draw the Nazgul like the film version at all because I think its nicer to actually acknowledge the book over the films. I wonder if Tolkien ever drew any sketches of his Nazgul apart from the one on the cover of ROTK?BTW, be careful where you throw that critical head. I don't want it hitting me | |
