(Summer and Light)

Show the raging dawn is long since passed

And I, near to the calmŽd sea shall sleep

At peace, at closing rest, and in the sand

I hold the book of knowledge sworn to keep.

A secret lies within, my chosen path

Lies open, out for all the world to see

And scorn, for I have chosen that what some

Might call outlandish, others, blasphemy.

I call upon the Light within the life

Of every living thing, Harken to me,

Light, and I will have you illuminate the

Force within me, burning to be free.

Withhold not from me power to make right

The paths of time that I have turned awry;

And so I keep my vigil, silent, strong

In waiting, staring in my flame to scry.

My mother tongue, up, rises from my breast

In song, in chant, away from troubled thought

And deed, to float amidst the lighted stars,

Careless, but for my own and what I ought.

And back to trees, and earth, and grass I come

From space, from time, where neither care to meet

But go on endlessly to gather fate;

And I am rested down upon my feet.
