Japanese version of the Queen of Wands tarot card. My deck will have 'fans' instead of wands. She is dressed as a modern geisha, and the dragon merges into the pattern on her kimono. 9x12, acrylic on textured board

That is a really beautiful card, from a tarot collector=) I'd like to see more of your cards. Will your whole deck be Japanese in theme or just the Fans suit? I would like to see you paint a Taku, who I understand to be a level higher than the Geisha, in the Major Arcana. Good luck!

Wow ^^ I love Japanese themes. This is so very well crafted. I like the face, I like the hair. It's very beautiful. The dragon is great!!! It's all so orderly. Just like a card 2 Good stuff!

Very very nice...the use of textured board works so well for this piece; and the use of color is so precise and intricate. Beautifully done.

Gahh, so cool!! I really like the dragon in the background, and your Queen of Wands is so pretty. I really like the idea of replacing wands with fans, in this case.
Congrats on Mod's Choice!

I love it!! Did you use gold paint for the fan and stuff? Because it really doesn't look like you did, and I mean this in a good way. It looks like you used gold foil or something.

Great job! Congrats on the Mod's Choice, you deserve it! This is just stunning.

One of few works I've seen capturing the Japanese style of art and colors. You've done your homework! Great pic. I will be interested in purchasing a card set when it becomes available. Keep up the inspired work!

My favorite thing 'bout this picture would have to be the dragon. Soooo many scales you had to draw. I'm supprised you survived! Basically, I'm trying to say that this is a really nice picture.

Oh my Legolas... *Uberluff.* I love fans. I don't know why, I just love them! And I love this picture too! It's so clever, with the dragon and all!~

This is a particularly wonderful piece of artwork you've created, Brenda! I love you use of texture - it reminds me of Japanese textiles and lends an authenticity to your tarot series. It's also a novel take on the whole tarot card idea. I've submitted this piece as a featured artwork on Elftown at http://elftron.lysator.liu.se/_The%20Elfwood%20selections and would love for you or any other Elfwood members to come by and check it out!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful art with us, Brenda!
