| 18 Nov 2005 | Perrie Nicholas Smith | Loading...Yeah i found the head fine, didn't think i was a fault or problem. Its common for artist to like other peoples work more than there own, your new pictures rock. How exactly do u use photoshop to help your pictures? Alvin Padayachee replies: "I draw the idea roughly on paper with a mechanical pencil, then I scan the pic into Photoshop and do the inking digitally.I used the lasoo tool for my most recent additionsbut I have been practising using the pen tool, sothis is the inking technique that will feature infuture pics. It's alot neater than the lasoo tool." | |
| 19 Nov 2005 | Perrie Nicholas Smith | Loading...Gel pens are no good. I use a nib (which looks like the tip of a fountain pen) which is taped to the end of a paint brush, then dip it into my ink well. But your onto a winning formula there cause your pictures look great. | |
| 19 Nov 2005 | Perrie Nicholas Smith | Loading...Wow. To do pictures like these using a computer is very impressive. But have you not tried to ink it by hand with some indian or something like that. Its just i like to do everything by hand without computers but each to there own i suppose. That picture must have taken ages! I don't have much patients when it comes to computers. Alvin Padayachee replies: "I have tried to ink with a gel pen, but I just ca'ntget the results that I want. I have never tried indian ink before. I just do'nt think have the skillto ink without a computer, besides I'm too used to using Photoshop now. With the technique I use, it does'nt take thatlong though, as long as I define most of the detailin the original sketch first." | |
| 27 Dec 2005 | Hannah 'werewolf' Louise - Crawford | Loading...Wow the detail on this picture is very well done.^_^ That sounds like a cool legand. The mussle anatomy is very well done.^_^ And well done at using gell pens i am rubish at it. Alvin Padayachee replies: "Thanks. I don't use gel pens anymore, I prefer to use Photoshop for inking." | |
| 28 Dec 2005 | Ashley T. ´Arc´ Wolfe | Loading...Very much impressive, and you did this in flash? go you...The muscle definetion looks really nice and they all seem to be placed right. Perhaps the tail could have a bit more muscles, I mean, you have such a bodybuilder-type beast and then you have the tail which doesn't seem to fit with the theme... however, those are just my observations... awesome job in it's awesomeness! Alvin Padayachee replies: "I did'nt actually think of putting muscles on the tail. I decided on making the tail short and thickso that it would seem strong. Thanks for the suggestion though." | |
| 25 Jan 2006 | Caroline Amalie Westh | Loading...nice! looks like its drawn in hand! your lucky you got a good drawing program... I'll have to stick with lousy old paint... Alvin Padayachee replies: "If you use the 'Pen' tool, your results can be moreaccurate." | |
