"A bath in Paradise" by Manuela P. Forst

This picture made me laugh out loud. The elf in the foreground has a look on his face like someone just interupted him from hitting on the little water nymphs and he's annoyed. He's like the sleazy guy at the public pool macking on all the girls in bikinis. I just makes it hilarious because I've always thought of elves as simple and innocent. This is no reflection on your boyfriend by the way. I'm sure he's a very nice guy and loves you alot. It's just the first impression I got.

Anyway, I think your painting style is awesome! I wish I could paint water like that. It looks so real. And the long time you spent on the rocks was worth it, cause they look great! Very cool.

Manuela P. Forst replies: "Thank you for your comment; it made ME laugh out loud!My impression about the look on his face was not very different from yours! Who knows what he had planned to do with these girls? Aren't elf-men just a bit male too? ;-) You need not excuse for this as this elf does not look much like my boyfriend. Even my parents, who where there as I took the photo, could just identify the waterfall but not the elf. I just have a lack on male models, but can be glad as my paintings mostly have nothing in common with the originals.But anyway, my boyfriend saied that he would like to play the role of the elf in real just because of the naked girls - so, what should I think about this???"

Wow, this is great! Wonderful scene. The rock carvings are beautiful, serious in contrast to the light hearted play. Very pleasant to look at.

WOW. I have to say, when I first looked at your painting etc., I thought it was a picture you had taken and you just took a computer program and did the wings and the face and cloak!!! That's how good it is! I love the water, and the guy's expression, along with a comment, made me laugh out loud! How True!!

Forst replies: "Thank you very much!Well, I actually DID it all over a photo - but it's been quite more work as just painting a bit here and there, as I took reality as an example and tryed to perfekt my work as long as it reached nearly the standart of the original.As I can gather from your comment: I think I have reached this goal"

It's just awesome. I really like it. Especially the stone dragons, which I didn't notice at first.

Wow, amazing job on this. The water is wonderful, the nymph-girls are wonderful, the stones are wonderful, the waterfall itself is... amazing. The carvings are good, too - they just don't seem to 100% match the rock. You have so much textures on the rock, but not so much on the dragon guys. That's my only supposed-to-be-helpful comment. The rest of this is really quite amazing. Great job

If you use photoshop cs or a later version, rocks can be made by using 'filter', 'render', 'clouds'. You justt layer the different version and colour variations together until you get what you like. This works well for textures in animations! Hope that helps

you are welcome!! trust me when I found that out, everything seemed easier. there are also different ways to make textures using the 'render' or the other gooies in photoshop. You basically just have to play with them until you get something you like!
