I have had rats for several years, and currently have 6 living with me in my apartment. They are very mischevious, and I have always been convinced that they must have been created by the Faeries themselves. That led me to the thought of a Faerie riding on the back of a rat, like a human would a horse, and instructing it on how to make trouble for the humans.

*First comment dance* Hehe: the contrary of my "Little Red Fairy and the Big Bad Rat"! Nice picture, well done. I love the concept of rat wings.

Oh, cute. I love the faery's expression. Very mischievous! Interesting and unexprected use of the peacock feathers too.

1 Melissa D. Saunders replies: "Yes, partners in crime they are! "

I have a rat too 2 I don't think he'd like to let a fairy ride him though... He gets very disgruntled to be so much as picked up! This is a lovely drawing though, full of whimsy.

:-) Melissa D. Saunders replies: "My rats love being picked up and given attention. I actually have my hairless sitting on my shoulder right now...and she was on my head a second ago. Silly rat. "

I love this! I have also suspected that rats are of the Fae folk as well... having been owned by many rats over the years (2 at the moment) I have decided that their cheeky mischief is a little TOO uncanny at times if you get my drift. 12 I love the little smirk that this particular rat steed has on her face.

:-) Melissa D. Saunders replies: "Thanks! Did you see the faerie rat in this gallery? I think you would like it! "

Aww 2 My girls were like that - I've never had a male before, but I think its just him that's anti-social, hehe.

:-) Melissa D. Saunders replies: "Male rats aren't quite as adventurous as females. They are more couch potatoes. I've got 12 rats...7 are boys. "

Ah! A rat! and a cute one too 2 I think the rat should be riding the fairy though, instead of the other way around.. Maybe I'll do a painting like that soon! 12 Maybe even today *picks up her pencils* ..

Nice work! I really love the rats wings 2

:-) Melissa D. Saunders replies: "I look forward to seeing that! "
