November 01, 2008: I drew this in my sketchbook earlier this year. I used a 3-D model setup (Daz3d) of a spider and a female for pose and lighting. I go back and forth between using that program and not using it. I t really helps you with posing and allows you to play around a little bit without commiting to anything. It also makes a great shortcut to light and shadows, something that I'm still trying to totally figure out. One of these days I'll have to photocopy the page and ink it up.

You are very good at drawing and inking. The pose and light in this picture is good, it has a lot of action! I wish I was better at using a lot of solid black when I ink pictures. Good luck with your drawing in the future!

:-) Werner Mueck replies: "This one is in pencil but I plan on inking it someday. I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much detail on the shadow if it hadn’t been for the Daz3D program. It’s a really cool program."
