| 15 May 2002 | Sherry Lynn Thomas | Looks like you have a good start. Keep praticing and you will get better. Heck I still practice and I have been drawing since I was in Jr. High. I am 34 now. I am still not perfect. I hope never to be perfect. I would have nothing to shoot for. Keep up the good work. Kathryn Muntean replies: "Thank you. I will take your advice to heart. " | |

| 8 Nov 2002 | Dani Russo (Dani-kitty) | After seeing your request for comments on Elkftown's Wiki, I thought I'd be nosey and take a peek! Honestly, I think you have a *lot* of potential ( and hey, a flat style can work! ) -- it all comes down to practice, practice and more practice as others have stated. Try getting a few visual aids. Maybe one of those silly artist models, or just badgering friends and parents to settle down and let you use them as a model. From here, don't try and get all of their features all at once, but block in their gesture, how they're sitting / standing, build from there. I also suggest getting a basic book on anatomy. Bridgman's guides are the ones my instructors have suggested, and they tend to break things down nice and simplistically. ( And, they're cheap! $12 on Amazon. ) Good start! Keep drawing! Kathryn Muntean replies: "I'm glad you stopped by. *grin* Thank you so much for the encouragement and the advice. *tries to imagine getting a family member or friend to pose..can't see it* Well, I guess it can't hurt to ask. I'll also have to see if I can find the book. *gives thumbs up* Thanks!" | |
| 17 Nov 2003 | Edie Muntean | I was just looking for information on the Muntean family on Google and your page was listed. Nice work and who knows we might be related too! Kathryn Muntean replies: "*blinks* Glad you liked my work...em, so how far back in the family line do you know?" | |
| 7 Dec 2003 | Lisa Muntean | Hi Kathryn, I, like Edie, was just looking for information on the Muntean family. I do love your work, please keep it up. Kathryn Muntean replies: "Wow...Thanks for the comment and letting me know you stopped by. I am glad that you like my artwork." | |
| 30 Aug 2005 | That One Guy <fsdcp1@uaf...edu> | Hey, I recognize some of these, hehe. Lookin' good, if I do say so m'self. I have never figured out how to make lines and spheres work for adding volume to perspective poses; to this day, they do me no good. What I found was that triangles can work really well, though - one for the torso, one for each upper/lower arm/leg, and for the head, a circle or box. Once you've got a skeleton like that, and it looks correct, you can draw whatever you want around it. Even hands and feet get a lot more simple for me when I do it that way. Might not work for everybody, though. - Daniel Kathryn Muntean replies: "Tri-angles. I seem to remember seeing you use them, the few times you let me catch you sketching.Worth a try, I do suppose. *grin* Thanks for the comment Daniel." | |
