So, I'm 25 and have finally made up my mind that art is the only place I wanna be and I plan on going back to school to fulfill that dream. For now though, I'm stuck working in an office and doing art on the side. 2 Christmas's ago though I actually started making money off of crafts, which is just tickling me to death! I made Charlie Brown and Snoopy lawn ornaments to go in my front yard next to my "charlie brown tree" (my sorry little tree that I planted and decorated like the christmas tree in the charlie brown special) and I thought they turned out cute so I showed a few friends here at work and suddenly I was being swamped with orders! Now, I'm still taking commisions for decorative signs and such. It's so much fun, plus I get to use my power tools, which is always fun.
I mostly work with pencil, and finally got a real good Prisma Color set at Christmas and am starting to get better with those. I like painting but it's so darned expensive (at least to my wallet) to do just for a hobbie, so I generally stick to my pencils. I also recently got a Wacom tablet and Painter X but I'm having a hard time figuring it out, and need to buy a book. If anyone knows of a good place to learn more about it please let me know!!!
Other than art, I dig WoW and most recently D&D... I never realized there was a dweeb deep down inside me dying to break free! lol But I'm a happy little dweeb in a happy, corny marriage with my dweeby husband. We are also big time into guns, my husband bought me a 1944 turkish Mauser for my Christmas present a couple years ago... and yes I was VERY excited.
Anyway, I hope you like what I have to offer. Please leave comments, comments make my day. Constructive critisism is always welcomed, meaness, however, is not appreciated, as mean people really do suck.
Enjoy!
Namaarie, Marie

| 25 Aug 2004 | Susanna Korppi | Loading...Woooow, you've been busy! ^_^ Nice pictures. Perhaps you should do more colouring though...? I mean, you seem to be quite good in it and all... Umm. Yeah, well, sweet. ´^_^` Marie E. Beck replies: "Well thanks! I am really trying to further myself in coloring, most of the uncolored stuff is either older, or I was just too afraid to ruin them. My problem is not going back to my "unfinished" pieces to color them in like I originally plan." | |

| 9 Mar 2009 | Vanessa | Loading...Wow Marie you are very talented. Your art is whimsical and it inspires me to try and start drawing again. (used to draw in high school- a looong time ago) While your color work is wonderful, your scetching in pencil moves me, that’s my kind of art. Your becoming my newest artistic hero! | |
