I haven't been active at Elfwood or in art for a while now due to work commitments and an OCD fascination with health and fitness this past year, but I have a slot at the upcoming OASIS convention's art show, so it's time to get back on the wagon with the drawing. :) The best part about getting back into Army girl shape is that I can use my own pics for reference now when I'm drawing buff warrior chicks.

Expect some updates in the next few weeks.

If you are looking for a high-quality custom character portrait and cannot face slogging through the thousands of unmoderated galleries here at Elfwood, I recommend heading over to http://illuminatorsguild.com and checking out the artist galleries there. IG's membership is moderated, with only professional quality character portrait artists given gallery space. All visitors are welcome, whether you would like to commission a portrait, just browse through the gallery, or want to apply for membership. Be sure to register at the site if you want to use the IG forums or submit your own web links!

Artistically, I am inspired by Disney, Mercedes Lackey, Laurell K. Hamilton, David Mack's Kabuki, too many other comic books to list, and various legends and myths from European and Asian sources.

1. I DO NOT do free portrait requests. Please DO NOT email me with requests. However, I do accept a few character portrait commissions each month through my own site.
2. GemStone III is a text-based fantasy roleplaying game by Simutronics. (If you'd like to try it out for free for a month, but don't have a credit card, you can do so through MSN's Gaming Zone.)
3. A lot of my characters are slender or uber-buff because very few people seem to want to roleplay chubby elves. Also, I grew up on comic books, and old drawing habits die hard.
4. Yes, I realize that mid-riff baring armor is probably not the most practical thing to wear into battle, but even die-hard warriors dress in casual civvies sometime, right?
5. Most of my color art work is created by scanning a graphite pencil sketch into Adobe Photoshop and then coloring it with a WACOM pen tablet. I've written a FARP tutorial covering my basic technique here
6. Yes, you can probably use one of my portraits for your character in your RPG. However, I do ask that you email me for permission and read my usage guidelines if you plan to display the portrait on the web.
