This is a drawing of a character named Falcon that my younger brother made up. I don't actually know much about this character, but I had fun drawing him using my brother as a model.

This is VERY good, but it needs to be cleaned up and get more detail put in, and his right foot needs to look like it is pushing off the ground, you might want to get a friend mimich this pose and work on the foot, it helps, but you did very well sicne this is a hard pose to pull off. I like the arms but they are a bit too long and the sword looks good. Keep it up and thanks for commenting on my page come back sometimes since I am getting alot more put up on it.

:-) Melissa L. Withington replies: "I see what you mean about the various posing and anatomical problems. I did have my younger brother pose for me, but he kept getting tired and couldn't keep still the whole time, so it was hard getting everything right. Working with models is definitely something I want to improve on."

Though there are indeed some mistakes here, the only one that's really disturbing being the arm, I think the overall picture is quite good. The style you use is very similar to mine and I too like to use a live model for reference. I think it gives the drawing a feeling of 'realness' and dynamics. I think that's also what made me comment on this picture. So I think you're heading the right way by choosing to work with models!

:-) Melissa L. Withington replies: "Thank you! I'll definitely keep working on getting my proportions right."

your brother stood like that? He's got a great pose!

:-) Melissa L. Withington replies: "Yes, he's a very patient boy! It especially helped since he wanted me to get the essence of the character he made up down. I would do a quick sketch of him, he'd come and look at it and say, "No, it's more like this," and then he'd try again. He's a lot of fun."

that's great! at first I thought it was a picture of Jeremy stabbing the wicked sorceress, since it's similar position. Only I forgot, he was facing the opposite direction wasn't he?

I'd love to see some of the pictures from your SIP on here - they're fantasy, right?

:-) Melissa L. Withington replies: "That's right; I need to put those up here. Thanks for the suggestion!"
